Invineo had been working on its prototype for 2 years and needed to take another step towards industrialization to validate the market with a few dozen machines before mass production. The mechanical designer had already been chosen, and Quimesis was selected to work on the electronics and on-board software. The result: an attractive, self-contained, easy-to-use machine for serving the perfect glass of wine wherever you are: in hotels, restaurants, brasseries, inns, or any other hospitality establishment.

Invineo integrates an NFC reader for user authentication and automated RFID identification of individual wines. This enables each wine to be served at the ideal temperature, thanks to an automated and silent cooling system. The developers have created wine tubes that can serve 2 liters of wine per unit (i.e. 20 x 10cL glasses). Their packaging is entirely recyclable and reusable, reducing carbon emissions by 75%. The wine tubes are inserted automatically, and RFID identification of the wines enables the Invineo dispenser's computer software to automatically adjust the temperature of the dispenser.
Today, the company has numerous distributors in Belgium and abroad. This Walloon-based company has grown from three employees to over a dozen in its short history. It now offers its customers a selection of over 60 different wines. Software development and embedded software play a key role in this kind of product. For example, it opens the door to intelligent connectivity, which is a goldmine of information. In fact, each machine is connected, and thanks to this connection to the cloud, it is possible to retrieve a huge amount of data (big data) that can be used to extract real consumption trends, plan predictive maintenance, provide remote support, and supply many other useful indicators for anticipating customer needs.
