Quimesis kaspard

Kaspard

This device is used to warn caregivers when an elderly person falls or gets out of bed when he or she should not. This device encourages the autonomy and mobility of people in nursing homes. Production: 2,000 units planned for the end of 2021.

Kaspard, the fall and bed exit detector

Who's there?

Kaspard is a young company that deals with the problems of falls and wandering in medical institutions and at home. The company wishes to meet the triple challenge of promoting mobility to avoid early deterioration of health status, reducing the risk of falls and helping care staff who do not have real-time information on risk situations.

What's that all about?

Kaspard came up with the idea to develop a solution that provides continuous information to caregivers in the event of a fall or getting out of bed. The system is based on a small, easy, discreet and complete non-contact device that can be attached to the wall at a height. This technological companion alerts caregivers if the elderly person gets out of bed, falls to the floor, or is absent for an abnormal length of time. This device reassures caregivers, provides objective activity reports to institutions and creates a safe environment for the elderly person and their family in case of displacement.

Development

Like any project, this one started with a brainstorming, in which Quimesis participated. In addition to this pre-military phase, Quimesis' expertise in terms of embedded programming, electronic design and mechanical design of the sensor was also called upon.

Quimesis' experience with the various technologies used was used in the design of the project. As for the detection algorithms, they were developed specifically for Kaspard and are continuously improved by our computer engineers.
